Elena Salmistraro
Italian product designer and artist Elena Salmistraro lives and works in Milan. Together with architect Angelo Stoli, she founded her own studio in 2009, working on projects ranging from architecture, design, art, fashion, illustration, and visual arts in general. Her eclectic, joyful, and imaginative creations are the result of the combination of art and serial design, and one of the priorities of her work is the meticulous study of the harmony of shapes, sought in the expressiveness of objects, animism, the poetry of stories, and emotions. She works as a designer for major international companies such as Disney, Apple, Vitra, Nike, Timberland, Ikea, Huawei, and Microsoft, as well as Italian companies such as Alessi, Cappellini, Florim, Cedit, Natuzzi, Bosa, De Castelli, Marella, and Lavazza, to name a few. In 2017, she was awarded the "Salone del Mobile Milano Award" for "Best Emerging Designer" by the Milan Furniture Fair, and since 2017, she has also been a World Ambassador for Italian Design on the occasion of the "Italian Design Day". Since 2019, AD Italia, Germany, and France have included her among the 100 most important figures in the world of design. In her career, she has won numerous national and international awards.
